It is a time as we grow with what Mother Nature has given us. We take things for granite and with a grain of sand can ruin whatever it is we have of had. Our land lies before us as our grandparents, fathers, and mothers have left behind for us. Young people today do not realize what they have and are sometimes not happy with what has been given to them. Land is getting hard to come by and only seems to be there for the rich. We no longer work hard to have what we could have but work hard for what we do have. The things we want most seem to be getting harder to come by.

Farm land is being turned into a pine forest and I can say I have never seen a deer or a turkey eat a pine comb. The value of timber go’s up and go’s down and timber companies take advantage of these things. I am not saying that a timber company is a bad thing. You don’t see hard wood timber like you use to see it. Even though there still is some farm land left in parts of Alabama and Mississippi. The black-belt area of Alabama is being turned into forest’s as it use to be nothing but farm land and hard wood bottoms.

West Alabama still hold some very great farm land but most of this land is owned by a single family or a company that no longer holds interest in farming for wildlife but farming for tree’s. There is nothing wrong with this if it’s done the rite way. Most of us dose not even know what the rite way is but we still believe we do in our own terms.

There are timber companies that work hard to produce great timber value and still produce great things in the forest for wildlife. Managing your timber and land the correct way will provide great rewards for wildlife today. Rayonier Timber company is a very good company that still helps hunter’s by allowing them to lease lands and manage wildlife in a firmly fashion. There are timber companies that work with companies like Biologic to produce and manage deer and turkey on their lands to make the hunting opportunity better for today’s hunter’s. Let’s take a look at a video on Timber management and see how you can market your timber.

Hogs in Alabama have grown to be a problem in most cases. They destroy crops and eat almost anything they can get their snouts in. How much of a problem are they? How do we get rid of them? Yes they are fun to shoot but can be dangerous if approached the wrong way. So take a chance at a hog in the wild in Alabama.

Wild hogs have known to become a problem in Alabama. They are fun to hunt but be careful because if you think you have killed one just when you walk up on a downed hog they jump and attack if they are not down completely. A hog or feral hog as we see most often will grow to be very large animals. They have a shield as to say on their shoulders that act as a steal plate of Armour. This is to protect them.

A hog can be a good thing or a bad thing. They will destroy any crops that can be found but also will eat snakes as a meal. They use their snouts more ways than we think. A hog can smell very well and sense things you may not think. Alabama’s wild hog population has grown tremendously over the past few years.

The Upper Delta (WMA) and Lowndes (WMA) hold quit a few wild hogs on their lands. There are hogs taken every year that weigh in at 150 lbs and larger. Lowndes (WMA) holds most of it’s hogs on the south road hunting area. I have hunted here for hogs, deer, and turkey in this area many times before. I can’t say that I have hunted the Upper Delta before but have talked to many hunters who have taken many hogs off this tract of land.

Hogs also carry diseases that can make you sick. Take extra care when cleaning these animals. As a hunter, you can protect yourself and your family from diseases commonly found in wild hogs. Use safe field dressing techniques when handling a hog. Wear latex gloves and wash your hands as much as possible when done. Also make sure to follow food safety tips when preparing the meat. Wash and clean the meat thoroughly and soak the meat in salt water to take out the wild taste and draw out any unwanted blood. If you get sick with a flu-like illness, tell your doctor that you hunt wild hogs.

To contact your state wildlife agency for information about wild hogs, visit: State Fish and Wildlife Agencies and for more information about wild hog damage management, visit: USDA Wildlife Services or call toll free at 1-866-4-USDA-WS.

Stay Healthy on Your Hunt!
And Good Luck!

When you want to catch big cat's in a river or lake make sure you have the right equipment in your tackle. When you search for big catfish always think safety first and then fish because without safety there wouldn't be any fishing. let's take a look at the Average Fisherman in a small clip and see the true way to catch big cat's.

When we think big fish what comes to mind? Maybe shark, bass, or even catfish at that. There are so many breeds of fish in the public waters that we just don’t want to settle on just one kind if we can help it. Most of our fresh water fish are bass, bream, and catfish that we choose to chase most often than none.

Saltwater fish we take after are mackerel, flounder, sharks, and red snapper. But fishing for saltwater is not the same as freshwater fishing. Freshwater fishing can take as much skill and sometimes more than that of its natural saltwater neighbor. We all dream of getting the big one and we all have heard the stories of the big one that got away.

Fishing tales can be in all shapes and sizes if you sit and keep your eye on the one telling the tale. There are some very large catfish in public waters and the only way to catch them is to get out of the house and off the couch long enough to stay on the waters of your choice.

Catfish are like what I would call a Texas Chicken, known as a buzzard. A large black bird that will eat anything that may not eat him. A catfish will bite most any kind of baits such as chicken liver, stink baits, and even bacon if you lay it out there for them to get hold on it. When you hang into one of these large fish you might think you have caught a whale.

Let’s take a look at the Average Fisherman and see him give us the tips on how to catch and what to use to catch big cats in our native waters.

These are just a few things to remember when making special trip to the south for a spring turkey hunt. You can enjoy some of the most beautiful scenery rite here in Alabama during the spring. The snakes and bugs can be somewhat of a little hassle for someone not use to it. But hanging in there and taking the cool spring mornings has great rewards for a mature Alabama long beard.

Spring time turkey season is some of the best there is. Alabama is home to some of the best turkey hunting locations in the U.S.. For years there were only few turkey hunters around and now the hunting of Alabama turkey have doubled and even tripled. Alabama has been known to have some of the most difficult turkey hunting of anywhere. The swampy bottoms of the rivers will make you think twice sometimes before entering.

Some of the best hunting lodges in the south are located with some of the very best turkey hunting around. Westerveltlodge ha been known to grow some big deer in their time but the turkey hunting here is among some of the best in the south. Westerveltlodge is located in Aliceville, AL. Another great place with true southern hospitality is Southern Sportsmans lodge located in Lowndesboro, AL. Just minuets away from the Alabama River and the Robert F. Henery lock and damn is also very great turkey hunting. Lets take a look at Westervelt on the video and see what Alabama turkey hunting is all about.

I can still remember my first fishing trip with my dad. Oh boy was it fun to be around water and be fishing. Kids today would much rather sit inside playing a xbox or a playstation. So get them up and way from the TV and place a fishing pole in their hands. You want be making a mistake by doing it.

You may even make yourself a new fishing buddy. What are you afraid of ? I think you may be afraid that they may out fish you. You will never know until you take that first trip with them to a pond or a river.

Start off with something easy for them to really get them into it. Crappie fishing is a way to do it and trust me they will have the time of their life doing it. This is a way to keep your kids enjoying the outdoors and off the streets. Let’s take a trip with Darian Brown from 5 Degrees of Fishing ” The Hunt for Trophy Fish” as he takes his kids out for a day of fishing for crappie. Remember that when you take a kid fishing it’s your way of giving back to a new generation. Our kids are our future.

Let’s take a look at the video now. “Crappie 101″

Do you know how many people fall from a tree stand each year. There are people getting hurt each year all because they didn't wear a safety harness while hunting from an elevated tree stand.

The staff at Hunters Safety Systems wants you to be safe and enjoy a life long chance at being able to return to the hunting woods after one safe trip to another. There are people getting hurt every year because they did have a harness on while in a tree stand.

I know one thing and that is I love my harness from hunters safety systems. They are a company that has one thing in mind when it comes to hunting and that’s safety first. The safety harness is a like a vest and they are the easiest that I have found to put on and take off. After getting all my hunting cloths on that is the next thing that I put on before heading to the woods.

I would be lost without my safety harness and it’s like my best friend that hunts with me each time that I hunt. Rather I’m in a climbing stand or even a strong built wooden ladder stand I will have may harness on at all times. There are many outdoor pros wearing this safety vest and it’s because they depend on it. People like Lee and Tiffany Lakosky from Gettin Close, Realtree’s Michael,David, and Bill. All these hunters each year depend on hunters safety systems to bring them the best harness so that their hunt want be their last hunt.

If you like to fish then the water is where you will start.Rather it be with a jig, spoon, or even a crank bait yo will still need to know how to use them. On the cool spring mornings you may fish a little different than you would on a warm summer morning.

When it comes to fishing for big bass know where to go and have your gear ready for anything. You don’t want to get out on the water and not have your favorite pole or jig with you cause you may not catch a thing. Some fishermen like their special pole or baits. You wouldn’t fish with a soft bait like a worm or lizard the same way as you would a jig so let’s take a trip with anglerinsider.com’s fishing pro Dand Wood and let him teach us how to catch big bass with a jig.

While you are waiting on that spring time or summer food source to grow.Try a feeder that will get the job done that will get the job done.Try a Moultrie Feeder.

For over 30 years Moultrie has grown to be one of the top feeder companies in the nation. I have been using their feeders for over the last 6 years and I can say one thing. “Great” I would choose no other feeder over Moultrie.

They not only have feeders but the scouting cameras to go with them. So when you use a Moultrie feeder try one of their great game cameras to go with it. What a combo they make. But the cameras and the feeders are not all they have that are great products.

The ATV spreaders, and the sprayers are also good tools to attach to your ATV. These things come in handy when trying to kill weeds or plant a food plot that you can’t get to with a tractor. So why not go to Moultrie for all your hunting needs.

The fish feeders that they have are something that every fisherman should have on their private lake or pond. When feeding fish like catfish and bream grows to be an everyday job you can sit back and enjoy that time on the bank to actually catch fish. Cause the fish feeder dose all the work for you.

So when you are looking for that perfect feeder to feed your deer, turkey, and fish try a Moultrie Feeder. They want let you down and you will have a feeder that will suit your needs.

Now lets take a look at a video of Dan Moultrie explaining to Jim Strelec how important it is to use a Moultrie Feeder.

Every year the state of Illinois grow bigger and bigger deer do to the management techniques they have. Only allowing a bow or a shotgun hunt allows the older bucks to reach trophy potential in antler size and in age. I have had the chance in the past to hunt and film in the big monster buck state of Illinois. Even though Illinois is only fourth in the most entries of bucks in the Boone & Crockett club they still manage to produce larger deer every year. The only other states that have more entries in the club are Iowa with 615, Minnesota with 608, and Wisconsin with 589 entries. Illinois has produced 552 entries so far. The Realtree camera’s are hard at work every year in the big buck state of Illinois. Now watch Michael Waddell of Realtree use the grunt, snort and wheeze along with a little rattling to bring in this Illinois monster withe help of his trusty decoy. very good buck in this state. I think you will be impressed with the technique of this fair chase hunt.
